What do you think about them? Currently there‘s two, one for Progarchives and one for RYM:

I think I'll rename these to "PAbot" and "RYMbot" - it's shorter, and it describes them better. The "auto-tagging" is only one aspect of what they're doing. I want to add more bots for other websites as well. The goal is to aggregate more information about (new) music releases from many different sources, combining them in one simple database with an advanced tagging system. :-)

Looks good for me now, and we should keep an eye on this system from now on. ;)

PAbot also enables me to link all the PA artists and releases to their TYM counterparts. And that will enable me to automatically list candidates for the PA genre charts, based on the tags generated by TYM users and the other bots.

What you say sounds logical, although it's not clear everything that the bots provide. I think that discogs is pretty much the authoritative source on music releases, so maybe a bot for over there would make sense? (Do you have enough to do yet?)

Maybe, but discogs is so vast. Even for 2023 alone they already list >95k releases ... The purpose of the bots is to a) populate the database with useful info about releases (e.g. ratings and genres) and b) to act as a source/inspiration for adding new releases and artists. |
