A few days ago I changed the logic slightly. The purpose is to make the system more flexible while still maintaining the general idea of base/main genres and sub genres. Previously you needed to assign a main genre before you were able to assign sub genre (from that main genre). Now you can assign main genres on any level, not just 100%. You still need to assign one main genre at 100% ("First") to make it the primary main genre of the release, but you can now proceed with sub genres even when there is no primary main genre assigned. For example, that allows you to tag a release as "Psychedelica" with only a very low level of Rock (the main genre), effectively saying "Psychedelica, but barely Rock".
