Topic: Tracks Combined indicator

It is defined as "This is the tiered median computed from all your track assignments, weighted by the track durations."

Unfortunately it's not the case -- the indicator simply takes either the rating associated with the longest track or the one from the last track depending on some criteria I didn't manage to find out. There's probably a bug in the calculation... :(

I guess you tested it with that Magnum release? I'll look into the algorithm, but this is how it is designed:

First it determines the group of tiers where the majority of the release (by duration) is rated - either in the two lowest tiers (0-4.9), the mid-range tiers (5.0-7.9) or in the top tiers (8.0-10.0). Then it looks at the group it chose and picks the tier with the most seconds, and then the sub-tier within that tier, and then the median.

You can override this by assigning a rating to the release, and you definitely should, since the "value" of the release is typically impossible to determine by the "sum" of its parts. But I'll think about the algorithm ... maybe there's something wrong with the calculation, as you suggested, or maybe I should tweak it.

Thanks for the feedback anyway, and please, if any of you other users are wondering about the algorithm, please do chime in!

Your Haken profile picture with the chimp makes you look very sophisticated. I like it. You should keep it. Return to monke and whatnot.

Gives me way too much credit ;)

Regarding the calculation: I guess I should offer the simple weighted average and/or mean as well, it’s what most people expect and what I did on the old website.
