As you may have noticed, I've replaced all the "old" tags badges with new, shorter versions. If you really liked the old ones - worry not! They will come back in a different form. The main reason for the change is performance. The old tags badge is being calculated in the client (your browser), the new version is being calculated on the server and cached in the database. I want to move most of these calculations to the server because that means that less data needs to be transfered to the browser.

What do you think about the tags badge ... do you have any feature requests? Now is a good time, since I'm occasionally tweaking the implementation.

if I remember it right the possibility once was given to switch between a compressed and enhanced tags badge via link. That would be fine to have, but it's not necessarily essential ...

Yes, I'll absolutely bring that back! The detailed view will open in a dialog or side panel and show all the tags that are assigned to the release.

As of today I've published a new version of the tags badge. Let me know what you think! Since I'm quite committed to keeping this website focused on Prog (after having experimented with the tagyourmusic domain name), the tags badge will focus more on Prog styles. I'm trying to make sure that the word "Prog" is always there for progressive releases, and at the same time I'm trying to shorten the badge as much as possible while trying to add at least one style, one genre modifier and up to two genres.

Can you update the tags to allow me to add the date I purchase an album and the format of the album that I purchased before I listen to the album? I tend to buy in bulk and like to enter the date and format of my purchase when I buy them. Thank you! Scott

Good point, absolutely! Will change the collection medium and date of purchase to be editable without any familiarity with the music.

Are you using the Account/Features page? Will add a query there which lists your collection in the order of least familiarity. Let me know if you need other queries there …

Done! You can now edit collection medium and date of purchase without setting any familiarity.

Check out the new filters I added on the Account/Releases page ... this one for example shows your collection sorted by familiarity. Will also add filters for collection medium and date of purchase shortly, and display the data in the list.
