Topic: New Tag Groups, Badge Toggles

The artificial modifier/styles split was always confusing. Today I replaced it with smaller tag groups, hopefully making the tags easier to find. I also allowed more tags in the genre badges, but max. 3 tags, and you can tweak the badge by skipping tags you want to keep out.

What do you think?

Not sure it's necessarily easier to find tags just yet but I think that's more me getting used to how things are grouped over time rather than it being inherently difficult. Does add some extra clicks when searching but that's no drama

I think I'd tentatively say maybe the tags are a little over-categorised now with all the different subheadings and many of the tags fit under several of them. But it's not a major thing.

Not that I am very good at rating vocals or instruments, but one of the these things that is now missing are all of my ratings of these items over the years. Is there any chance that that can be restored?

The additional ratings should be on the ratings tab in a sub tab named "More Ratings". Sorry, I know it's hard to find. Will remove the sub tabs here and make sure that all the ratings are available on the ratings tab without any switching.

Or do you mean the ratings you could set within vocals or instruments tags? If so, they are currently hidden. I must admit that I didn't bother checking who used them, but if you do, I'll by all means make them available again ... all the ratings you submitted are still in the database.

Yes, I meant the ratings that I could use within vocals or instruments tags. I did use them, although like with most of my ratings, they really didn't mean much, other than if I really liked or disliked the vocals, or if something really stood out one way or the other with an instrument. Most of my rating seem to fall within a pretty small range anyways, with a few outliers.

Two questions - Clean Male Vocals and clean female vocals look to have been removed but now there is "male vocals" and "vocals - male" and the same with female. I like "clean vocals" as it differentiates from growling, but either/or is fine.

What does the "I" before the Region mean? Also, probably a silly question but do you consider Canadian and Mexican to be "American"? Us US Americans tend to be snobby and only consider ourselves to be "Americans", however, our neighbors to the north and south are certainly "North Americans". LOL
