Today I also adjusted the tier ranges. The key change is that I made the D-tier bigger by adding the range 30-39.
I think this is more logical. It is the numerical middle-ground, so now it is basically 50 +- 10. Now we have a simpler structure for all the ranges: F, E and D are 20 points wide, C, B, A and S are 10 points wide. This led me to adjust the voting algorithm which is based on tier groups:
This means that when computing the rating for a release, now B-tier votes count towards the "high" group, so they are regarded as more positive than they used to. Numerically this also makes sense:
So the new structure is a little more generous. What do you think? |
