Sutra 2011

""Sutra" belongs to the more sophisticated and progressive ends of the metalcore continuum. And with their many changes, weird chords, and complext compositions, Scarred By Beauty does not appeal to everyone's tastes.

I, however, think that they have produced a very good debut-album. Although their music is not catchy it is interesting with many little details, unusual chords and harmonies, and the left guitar often does not play the same pattern as the right one. This music requires your full attention and concentration.

"Sutra" is an interesting musical experience, if you take your time and concentrate and listen to all the details. This is the thinking person's metal, and not music to rock out with your cock out to (you can try, but I think you're destined to fail).
