Prog Metal

"The two tracks on this EP, which, being limited to 1000 copies, is probably intended to be a collector's item more than anything, are very clearly inspired by the kick-ass metal of the early 80s (but that's RAM's style anyway), and RAM seem to be very inspired by NWoBHM - this certainly applies to the track "Under the Scythe".

Mercyful Fate fans will probably recognize the title "Evil", and it's not a rip-off title. It's actually a cove rversion of the Mercyful Fate classic itself. RAM's version is very faithful to the original, so don't expect any reinterpretation. Nifelheim fans will be interested to know that Hellbutcher makes a guest appearance on this track.

Thus we will end up having not only RAM fans but also Mercyful Fate and Nifelheim fans fighting over the 1000 copies of this EP... and it is worth fighting for!

The production is retro to the point that it sounds almost like an early 1980s production in terms of rawness. This might not suit the ear of the modern listener, but I think it fits the music itself very well.

NOTE: the prog rating is due to "Evil"
