"This album is very dear to me. I listened a LOT to it as a teenager in the 90s. It's much more polished than the classic Queen albums of the early 70s, but still firmly in the Rock domain. I love it not only for the obvious hits, but also for gems like the Melancholy Blues and Get Down, Make Love."
"This is a progressive album. Released in 1973, it sits well with other great prog rock releases of the time. Sure, Queen had their unique pop-leaning style right from the start. But the way they combine their operatic-esque layered vocals with a raw rock attitude and harmonically sophisticated folk-inspired tunes is unmistakably prog to these ears of mine."
