"Fans of epically tinged doom metal along the lines of legendary Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus are going to love this album. It is heavy and doom-ladden, but full of melody and never so slow that the feel of a pulse and beat disintegrates. The base sound definitely is traditional doom metal, with Rob Lowe-inspired vocals to boot, and it is pretty awesome at that. However, there are also a couple of extreme metal elements, such as black metal tremolo picking and blastbeating as well as a couple of death growls, and these elements work surprisingly well. Isole make moderate use of keyboards to boost the epic feel, but most of the epicness can be attributed the the music itself as well as the vocals, of course. Overall, the album is very expressive and captures a sense of melancholy and desperation. In short, this is an awesome doom metal album which should be absolute ear candy to fans of Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, While Heaven Wept, Procession and My Dying Bride.
