"Mezmerizer are described as avant-garde and progressive metal, and I have heard a number of tracks, not included on this demo EP which I found progressive, but the three tracks collected on this release are more in the groove and heaviness department.

But it certainly is technical with pretty weird and complex guitar riffs suchb as the eastern-sounding riff in "The Party Religion" and groovy figures laid on top of blast beats as in "Spineless" and "Here Comes The Irony".

In a sense, the music is a continuation of the style of Megalomania 999 on their second and last album "Reborn" (which should not be a surprise, since Mezmerizer counts at least two former Megalomania 999 members.

The three tracks on this release are not bad at all, but I think it's an odd choice of tracks for a band who style themselves as progressive and avant-garde (and who do have progressive and avant-garde compositions in their repertoire.
