"Black Midi were a band I took some enjoyment from, a rare thing when music gets quite Avant-Garde. Their frontman's solo debut is similar in style, but more jittery, with influences from around the world, and obvious links to Frank Zappa too. Lyrically its a bit blunt and doesn't work for me."
