S Prog Metal

quot;At War With Self"... instrumental progressive metal. Well with a name like this I was expecting something very heavy and technical in the vein of Liquid Tension Experiment or even heavier. But not at all...

This is a quite relaxed album, even few moments can be described as "metal". Most of the song are good progressive rock with a lot of mood changes, but especially acoustic guitar/keyboard/piano interludes.

Tracks

1.

KONG (early releases) meets King Crimson meets acoustic rock... very nice.

2.

In the same vein as the first track, a little bit heavier.

3.
4.

Heavier metal parts again blended with acoustic jazz/rock. Maybe the least accessible track...

5.

This song is a complete acoustic piece. Mellow and refreshing...

6.
7.

Very spooky track... totally out of phase with the rest of the songs. Reminds me of late '90s early '00s Ministry dark songs.

8.
S Run 3:04

A heavier song again, very similar to #4 "Grasping At Nothing" with thrashy riffs.

9.

A little acoustic instrumental again.
